How we'll test (in progress)
- Usable-photo rate: what share of each tool's output a blind reader panel would actually put on a profile.
- Likeness: does it still look like the person? Readers compare against a real photo, blind.
- Verification: do the photos pass the apps' face/photo verification checks?
- Cost per usable photo and how easy the refund really is.
Results go up here and in the newsletter as each test finishes. Until then every tool shows "testing in progress".
Keep it honest
Dating apps prohibit misleading profiles and use photo/face verification. Use tools to get better-lit, better-framed photos of what you actually look like. Read Tinder's community guidelines and Hinge's community guidelines before uploading anything.
